Passover Seder

April 13 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Coming in April… A Passover Seder

Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 13th at 5:00pm, to celebrate a Passover Seder with your church family.  This will serve as our Family Table event for April.  We will partake in a traditional Passover Seder with time allotted to eat dishes that you bring as well.  Try cooking a Jewish dish and bring it to share.  Other dishes are welcome as well.

This is a free event and all are welcome and encouraged to come; however, in order to prepare adequately, we’re asking everyone to register for this event.  You may register via the “Click Here to Register” button below.

Some Background and Suggested Jewish Dishes to Prepare

Our event is about Jesus and celebrating our freedom in Him! IF you would like to try your hand at kosher cooking, here are some tips. Traditional Passover foods are kosher and do not have any leavening in them. Leavening (rising agents like yeast) is symbolic of sin in the Bible. Leavening is in more foods than you think! Pizza, breads (including sourdough), crackers, doughnuts, pancakes, waffles, some breakfast cereals, beer, alcohol, breaded fish and chicken fillets, are just some. Foods that contain bicarbonate of soda, sodium bicarbonate or double-acting baking powder (sodium aluminum phosphate) are also considered leavening agents. Again, our event is to experience your history, not to religiously snare you. Bring a dish you feel is good.
