He Sought Us First
Pastor Jay teaches from the story of Zacchaeus, the "chief tax collector," and a pariah to his own people. Jay weaves together the stories from several previous parables to explain how Jesus intended, from the beginning, to be the Good Shepherd, coming to seek and save the lost. His encounter with Zacchaeus was neither accidental nor an independent story, and helps explain John 3:16-17: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
